You ever notice that some days are just harder than others to deal with? You ever feel like you just want to delete the whole world?...Pick up the newspapers, turn on the television, open up facebook and twitter...and all you see is death, anger, hatred, murder, nastiness, lovers of self. You ever wonder where God is in all this?
Today is one of those days for me...but as I yell out all the frustration on my heart and then, just spent, sit quietly before Him, this is what I'm hearing, "Why do you fret? Did I not say these things would come to pass before I would come? I'm here. Get your eyes on me child. Focus your thoughts on me and not what you see happening around you."
Philippians 4:8-9 says, "Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you."
Just as Peter began to sink when he took his eyes off Jesus, there are days when I feel I'm doing the same. Even I, this wife of a pastor, needs to be reminded that if I would just learn to maintain my focus on the One who will bring deliverance, I would have peace. Not the temporary peace that the world can offer but an everlasting peace that can only be found in Him.
When you feel like you're gonna delete the whole world, I encourage you to change your focus, and put your eyes on Him.
